Remote Patient Monitoring

Keeping Physicians & Patients Connected

The rise in the popularity of Remote Patient Monitoring in recent times can be attributed to two main reasons.

First, it is the intrinsic convenience of the service, allowing patients with chronic conditions and outside of a conventional care setting stay connected with health care providers as and when required.

Second, it is the significant reduction in medical costs, brought about by fewer hospital readmissions, shorter stays and an overall improvement in the quality of care.

GoTelecare’s Remote Patient Monitoring combines cutting-edge sensor technology, advanced cellular technology, and the increased affordability of embedded communication devices to advance seamless, continuous provider care while easing the care burden for patients. The service offers a comprehensive solution to monitoring a patient’s vital signs and getting alerted automatically whenever they cross a pre-determined threshold value.

The RPM system is made up of the following Key Components:

· A specially designed monitoring device, complete with probes, sensors and other attachments, to monitor and transmit health data to a centralized online system running on a secure server.

· A smartphone with Bluetooth® and Internet connectivity.

· The GoTelecare Remote Patient Monitoring App (available for both Android and iOS) running on the smartphone.

The RPM System Works in the following way:

The physician sets up upper and lower limits for such vital metrics as blood pressure, blood glucose, body temperature, oxygen saturation and pulse. The patient is monitored for abnormalities in these metrics whenever a vitals reading is recorded through the system. Every time, a vital sign crosses a threshold value (upper or lower limit) and wanders outside the set range, an instant alert is triggered in the central system, and it sends out an SMS to the physician, informing him/her that the threshold value has been breached.

GoTelecare’s RPM system provides a high degree of flexibility and ease-of-use. Threshold values can be set up, or existing values modified, in minutes. The physician can also access a full record of all abnormalities recorded by the RPM system by logging into the central system. The system is fully compliant with HIPAA regulations and all data recorded is securely backed up on a regular basis.

The Benefits of the RPM System:

The RPM system is the perfect means of staying connected remotely with the patient to monitor his vitals continuously. By sending out instant alerts whenever an abnormality in the vital signs is noticed, and thus allowing for early intervention by the physician, it helps prevent further deterioration of the patient’s condition, false alarms and unnecessary hospital readmissions

Gluco-meter

Fully compatible with the All-in-One Health Monitor and designed for accurately measuring blood glucose levels within seconds. Comes with low-pain lancets, lancing device and test strips.

Reusable Temperature Probe with Cable

Allows the patient to take his/her body temperature, without having to manually enter the data into the All-in-One Monitor. This prevents data entry errors, and keeps the clinician’s record of the patient’s temperature more accurate.

Reusable, Self-Applying Blood Pressure Cuffs

Each cuff measures the systolic, mean, and diastolic blood pressure all in a single measurement. It takes anywhere from 30 to 135 seconds to complete the blood pressure measurement.
